About Hunter Culinary Association

Hunter Culinary Association is a not for profit association and was established in 2006. The association is guided by a group of industry professionals that volunteer their time to support and promote the region and give back to the industry that they are so passionate about.

As a region the Hunter offers a culinary destination that allows visitors to enjoy diverse and abundant dining experiences ranging from quality cafes to 2 hatted restaurants, showcase passionate and talented industry professionals, regionally sourced produce and sample award winning wines from some of the regions highly regarded wineries.

The official launch took place on the 14th of August 2006 and since then the association has worked to:

  • Foster a greater awareness of the excellent quality of restaurants and food services in the Hunter region and contribute to inbound tourism in the area.
  • Develop new talent within the region working with Tafe and through apprentices, conducting master classes and exposing them to different catering operations.
  • Build on the education and training for Hunter Chefs
  • Establish a schedule of events and exposure for Hunter chefs to represent the area in the key markets of Newcastle, Sydney & interstate. These opportunities can involve media appearances, event appearances and produce tours to name a few.
